Girly Phones - Not Toys For the Boys!

Sony Ericsson W550i

The Sony Ericsson W550i is part of the "Walkman" range of music phones, and it's a clever little device with a rotating keypad, a high quality digital camera, Bluetooth and an integrated FM radio.

As the W550i is a Walkman phone, you can expect that it has some interesting features that will turn it into a capable music player.. and you'd be right! The Walkman software on the W550i is easy to use, and there's 256Mb of internal memory (which is a lot!) which can hold around 4 CDs worth of high-quality MP3s. You can install Sony Ericsson's Disc2Phone software on your PC to make transferring music a breeze. And if you don't want to listed to an MP3, then just tune in the FM radio to hear something new. The W550i has stereo speakers too.

It's not just a music player though. The W550i's 1.3 megapixel digital camera is capable of taking high quality stills photos and video clips. There's also Bluetooth, which means that you can use the W550i with a compatible headset or other accessory.

The W550i's 176x220 pixel screen is great for surfing the web, sending text messages or reading emails. You can also download and play Java games, compose ringtones and view and edit pictures.

Sony Ericsson call their design concept "dual front" - which means that the phone looks as good from one side as it does the other. When the W550i is folded up you can use the navigation keys under the screen for all basic calling and browsing functions. TUrn the phone around and there's an attractive digital camera with a flash. Rotate the keypad around (and let your friends go "wow!") and you can manually dial numbers or send text and email messages.

It's certainly one of the most interesting looking phones on the market today, and it's very capable at the same time!
